Aaron's last week of Christmas vacation was spent in beautiful Vail, CO. The Larson clan was traveling again and, of course, we were up for the adventure. We thought it would be a great opportunity to put Matt in skis for the first time. The night before we went to the rental shop and Matt was thrilled. He loved his boots and couldn't wait to hit the mountain. We were so excited until the next morning, after a long process to carry all of our stuff to the gondola (us in ski boots, bundled up, carrying 3 sets of skis, 2 sets of poles and a 2 1/2 yr old who couldn't walk great in his boots. we had a full workout just to make it to the lift!), we arrived at the top in a blizzard. Matt was so tired (altitude factor, anyone?) and the cold snow hitting his face did not make for a great experience. He loved the gondola ride and did it again the next day in the sunshine. we had a blast playing in the snow and getting into the hot tub. 2 1/2 years old is such a great age! Aaron and I were able to get some real skiing in thanks to the grandparents and it was fabulous. We were all wiped out at night and early to bed but it was a blast. maybe next year we will be chasing after Matt down the mountain. Mackenzie spent her days looking cute, being amused by her tongue and spitting, like give you a shower spit. so fun! Thanks for a great trip Dad and Mom!
