Ice Storm

Sunday the forecast was 80% ice on Tuesday. Monday morning I got the kids ready to head to the store (we were down to the last couple of diapers, so no choice in the matter) and headed to the car, almost falling as I stepped outside. The ice had come in quicker than expected, but we still had to go to the store. We made it safely there and back. I bought food for several dinners, just in case. Monday afternoon, during naptime, Aaron arrived home. School was cancelled for the afternoon. We received good news that night, no school on Tuesday. We enjoyed our time together and did so much stuff around the house. Tuesday night we received more good news, no school on Wednesday. What a couple of inches of ice does in Oklahoma! The ice pellets had become a solid sheet around our house and neighborhood. The boys would bundle up and go out for a while to enjoy the adventure of our white wonderland. It was so great having a few specials days together, when we couldn't leave and had nothing to do but hang out. Here are a few pics from our "ice days" Makes me excited to think we might get a few more of these next year in Omaha!

You'll soon see Omaha is a wussy city when it comes to snow! They'd cancel school if there were 4 inches FORECASTED...and then it would never come! Get ready for snow days galore, as they don't hesitate to cancel everything!
